Welcome to my travel blog, where you’ll find updates and photos from my adventures! I set up this blog to document my career break in 2013. It took me from Mexico through Central America (Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama) and on to South America (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina). After this, I flew to Singapore (via my hometown Dublin) and spent a few months exploring South East Asia (Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar/Burma).
Previous to this trip, I was working in marketing, communications & PR mostly in the NGO/not for profit sector. I always longed to travel for a significant period of time to far-flung destinations, so I decided that 2013 would be the year for me to take the leap. It was slightly scary thinking about doing it alone, but I can safely say it was the best decision I have ever made.
It feels good to be back in Dublin now, refreshed and re-energised after my year long career break. I’m still busy updating (and back-dating) my blog with posts about my travels, practical advice and in the future I hope to incorporate new, closer-to-home adventures too.
I hope you find this blog useful for advice, inspiration or just generally interesting 🙂 Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or comments. I’m also on Twitter.
Thanks for reading & Happy Travelling!
